My Personal Thoughts
The movie was EPIC! Wow! Just WOW! I’ve run out of words to say, IT’S OVER! LolπŸ˜‚ Tuesdays are becoming more and more of a movie habit for me and my husband because aside from the fact that we’re both off from work during this day, it’s also a discount day at Hoyts Cinema.πŸ˜³πŸ™ŠHurrayyy!πŸ˜† Instead of paying for the original price, we only score out tickets for $13 each every Tuesdays. Tempting, isn’t it?πŸ€” You may add a bucket of popcorn and soda if you want to.πŸ˜„
Even with books, historical fiction and fantasy are definitely my cup of tea! The movie’s story and plot line are just too awesome even if they’re both simple and easy to grasp. Still, the movie was well-crafted! All the characters did a very excellent job especially Matt Damon! Damn! Why is he so good with epic films?😫 The execution of all the scenes are badass and fantastic and brilliant and so on!😍 There was never a dull or odd moment when we were watching the film!☝🏼️ It was full of sense, pride, and dignity!πŸ‘πŸΌ Movies today should be like this one; full of “feels” and it made the viewers see clearly all the beliefs and traditions of China. In this movie, it was about how epic The Great Wall was. It was based on the myth about monsters; and I don’t mind seeing dragons or monsters and shits like that because I personally love “Game Of Thrones” and those creatures indeed made the movie more exciting and enticing! I just can’t! It’s so freakin’ good! I want a sequel! I want Commander Lin and William! My shippppp! 😍 It is highly recommended yes yes yes! ☺️

Movie Review #1: Split (2017)

Knate and I felt the need to watch any movie yesterday since he noticed that I am currently under a lot of pressure and stress because of UNI. And because it’s Tuesday, we scored our tickets for only $13 per person at Hoyts Cinema here in Belconnen. So we’ve decided to try a different genre this time contrary to what we always watch which are action and fantasy themed films. Although in my case, I’m used to reading books that are psychological/thriller/horror and I always enjoy exploring the different mental health illnesses that are currently existing. It’s hard to try a different one from your cup of tea because movies might make or break any viewer’s enthusiasm towards a certain theme. It was a consensual decision anyway, LOL, we’ve picked up Split.

While the mental divisions of those with dissociative identity disorder have long fascinated and eluded science, it is believed that some can also manifest unique physical attributes for each personality, a cognitive and physiological prism within a single being. Though Kevin has evidenced 23 personalities to his trusted psychiatrist, Dr. Fletcher, there remains one still submerged who is set to materialize and dominate all the others. Compelled to abduct three teenage girls led by the willful, observant Casey, Kevin reaches a war for survival among all of those contained within him – as well as everyone around him – as the walls between his compartments shatter apart.

My Personal Thoughts

I undeniably loved and adored it! I’m pretty sure that my husband enjoyed it as well. The Dissociative Identity Disorder case was executed and given justice very well. I love how the team explored and dissected the different manifestations and symptoms of this mental health problem and the actor who portrayed 23 personalities did a very great job! The acting was superb and very realistic. The flow of the story is very well-done! The major twists and turn out of events brought me mini heart attacks and I really really commend the way this movie opened the eyes of its viewers. It basically did not just tackle “DID” but it also presented how a traumatic childhood can affect a person’a life not just for a while but for a lifetime. This is so far one of the best psych thriller that I’ve watched because usually majority of movies like these are either boring or does not have a stable plot line. If there’s one thing that I kind of disliked about it is the way the last identity evolved. I don’t know. I just find it odd and somewhat creepy. Anyway, I still can’t deny the fact that this film was screaming awesomeness!
