By Colleen Hoover
Miles Archer is the absolute example of an eligible bachelor. Refined, smart and has a decent profession. He is a “beautiful disaster” waiting to be touched and healed. Tate Collins on the Other hand is a woman with beauty and brains. She is free spirited and has a strong personality. They found a temporary shelter in each other’s arms.
This book is mainly about misery and pain but it is undeniably beautiful. The title itself explains everything. It is certainly a very ugly love. The kind that you never want to experience or think about.
The setting mostly took over at an apartment unit where almost all the tenants are pilot. The characters are well-defined and thoroughly described. I like Cap, the old man who became the confidant of the two main characters, he is very trustworthy and just like any old person, he is wise and full of sense. There is also Corbin, the attractive and overprotective brother of Tate who does everything that a brother will do for his sister.
I hate the fact that Tate is so stupid, so damn stupid with regards to her feelings towards Miles, there are moments where I want to throw the book at her face. Seriously! She is the most stupid and submissive fictional female character that I have ever encountered. BUT! I also admired her determination and devotion to Miles, she is a keeper, someone who has proven her worth. I can not blame Miles for his attitude towards love and relationship, what he went through was hell, a not-so-common situation where you blame and seclude yourself from everyone else. They are genuinely made for each other except for the fact that Miles is not capable of giving himself completely without breaking Tate’s heart.
I was enthralled once again with Colleen Hoover’s masterpiece, she is the queen of New Adult genre, she is so realistic, we can never expect love to be always at its finest. There will be ups and downs. There will be heaven and I’m sure that there will also be hell. All her stories are uniquely written and you will always be surprised with the twists and turns!
The story taught me a lot of things but my most favorite part is holding on to something or someone without even knowing if there is something to hold on to. This is a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5. It has the perfect plot and twist, I was totally mind-blown. I cried and laughed a couple of times all throughout the strory. Another book which is worthy of your money and time. 👌🏼
